2006 saw a dynamic world economy and a notable upswing in the German economy even though prices for raw materials were rising steeply. GKD – Gebr. Kufferath AG rode this positive trend and achieved results in 2006 far in excess of the prognoses, and in spite of massive increases in the price of steel. The company booked a record turnover of 73.3 million Euro, 25.3% up on last year’s figures. The growth achieved in South Africa, the USA, Great Britain and China was higher than average. Nevertheless, this non-listed joint stock company remains committed to Germany as its central location, as clearly evident in the expansion of the main production facility in Düren. With its innovative product developments “made in Germany”, this technical weaving mill for metallic and plastic meshes is setting worldwide standards.
